the strongman mallet and ball game
whilst in the development stage of my modelling for Chris phairs' film, we found a reference which fitted the mood of the film, and gives it a cartoon effect but also a intriguing prop for the 3d short.
the strongman mallet and bell game is one of the main assets in the Compliments to the chef, which will be on camera show. Below is a collection of development shots for the polygon mesh,
beginning of the mesh.
the arms were roughly modelled. These were to robust for what we as a group were looking for, therefore the top feature of the strong man was bevelled and smoothed out.

This was a test for the muscle man on top of the prop, but was removed to fulfil the directors requirements, and also the overall theme as it being apart of a sign post.
extrusions within the polygons allowed me to give it that detail to stand out, therefore giving it a more solid mesh, with a depth of field when in perspective view.
the base of the top was removed, and the arms remained, merged inwards to create a cardboard effect, overall making it more consistent for the next stage.

This will be textured by Chris, and other members of the team ready for major animation/filiming.
